A hydrophilic finish gives the material an affinity for attracting water so that it gains wicking properties. This finish is typically used in performance apparel, to wick sweat away from the body. It is chemically applied and does not change the appearance. PROMAX also offer an additional fast drying hydrophilic agent that disperses (spreads) the moisture through the fabric faster after absorption enabling the fabric to dry quicker.
Durable water repellent, or DWR , is a coating added to fabrics at the factory to make them water-resistant. If a product is labeled as “water-repellent”, it means that it is hydrophobic, or repels water on contact, increased strength and retain durability after wear and wash. DWR containing PFC are now being phased out and replaced with PFC Free versions which is more sustainable.

ANTI- Anti-Microbial finishes kill and inhibit the growth of microbes on a fabric, such as bacteria, fungi and some viruses. It is typically used in materials intended for use with high sweat. Adding antimicrobial product protection reduces the growth of odor causing microbes that remain on your clothes even after washing. The finish is chemically applied and does not alter the appearance of the fabric.
ANTI- A chemically applied finish reflects or resists UV rays from penetrating fabric, typically in materials intended for use in outdoors, with exposure to sun. Does not change the appearance or the handle of the fabric. Sun protective fabric is rated for its level of UPF. UPF (ultraviolet protection factor) represents the ratio of sunburn-causing UV without and with the protection of the fabric.
